First Stop: Savannah

Image
In less than 6 weeks, we upgraded our truck, purchased our first RV, a 42 ft 5th wheel, I applied for my compact license, found a travel company & recruiter, applied for and accepted a job in Savannah, both of us left our full time jobs, started virtual school with kids and moved 4+ hours to GA.  We both continued to work full time and then school started back so we had to get the kids school done after work as well. It was hectic. It was a intense. There were a lot of late nights. Had quite a few bumps in the road but when it was all said and done, everything really fell into place so well. People sometimes ask me how much time we took to plan our adventure. I tell them I couldn't have planned any less and I'm sure they don't always believe me, but its true. We were flying by the seat of our pants for all of it!  I arrived a week before the family did and just jumped right in. My new hospital was a busy place, but I found coworkers who I love immediately & knew tha...

Wanderlust in my blood.

It’s funny how life goes. The way you dream your life will be and how it actually goes rarely are the same. And I’ve slowly learned that that’s okay.  When I was younger, our family moved. A lot. I was a missionary kid. My parents were from 2 different countries. I lived in 3 countries and numerous states. And I didn’t make it easy on my parents each time they uprooted us. In fact, I'm pretty sure I talked back, complained and fought with my siblings nonstop. Sorry Mom & Dad!  I was fortunate to have a built in best friend, with my big sister, and while we mostly fought, my little brother and I kept each other entertained a lot too. I learned to adapt quickly and became very comfortable with change and making new friends. As an adult I realized I craved change and loved new experiences.  When I was 17, I decided I completely hated school. I lived in the town where both my parents went to the University and so had my grandmother. It was assumed I would go there to I gu...

Izzy's Fall field trip: Fire Station

Image
Izzy was proud to have her 3 yr old cousin and brother tag along on her field trip! Add caption Getting to check out the inside of the fire truck was a highlight! Not sure what to think about it. It was very loud with over 100 kids inside the forestation!  The boys had enough so we headed home to snack and rest! We loved having our family come to visit us down in Florida!

showing off Florida: Wakulla Springs

Image
My Mom, Sister, Brother & Nephews came to visit us in October. There was a lot of hanging out, but also a bit of showing off Florida on their visit too. With 3 active kiddos and 1 infant, it made for interesting day trips, but we are an active family and it was good to get out in nature together. The 3 big kids in front of the Wakulla Lodge In front on Old Joe and some funny paintings. Tarzan and the Creature from the Black Lagoon were filmed here. Everyone loves an ice cream treat! Boiled peanuts are a favorite among these parts. Ice cream faces! Ready to ride the Jungle Boat  Manatees in the wild! It was pretty cool to see the Manatee floating leisurely in the river.  Such a beautiful sanctuary. We spotted lots of big 'gators! My sweet Momma! Uncle Mark enjoyed some quiet time. Izzy got to skip school. She took it upon herself to write out every bird and animal that we saw. Proud of my smart girl! ...
