and Levi's off to school...
...well, Mother's Day Out, that is! Levi didn't arrive "on time" as far as being born by his due date, but that hasn't slowed him down - almost a full year later and he was able to start going to our churches' MDO program, a week before his official birthday.
Levi joined the 1's class as if he'd been going all year. I figured he would enjoy it and he sure did.
He was very eager to go inside, mostly because he knows that's where we drop Izzy off. He wasn't sure why I pulled him from her class to go to a new one, but it didn't take long before he was off exploring his new classroom and classmates. He IS more attached to us than Izzy ever was, meaning hesenses when he's going to be dropped off and does cry for a few minutes, but then he's fine and does great while away from us.
We have yet to get a report that he was unhappy while in another person's care, and MDO wasn't any different.
His report card for the day was this:
He was a perfect, model student. He played very well, and independently. He did great during assembly (chapel), even laughing at a child who was crying. (not sure if that's a good habit?), he ate like a champ, went to sleep easily and napped 1 1/2 hours, and was happy and smiley the entire time. Oh, and he fell while in the playroom, off a small slide, which resulted in a small bruise/bump on his forehead but he didn't even cry.
I'm really happy the kids get to see each other some during the day, during assembly and in hallways occasionally. I think it was special to Izzy, too. She mentioned a few times about seeing Levi in the babies' class and she got to wave at him. They will have next year together there as well. Nothing but sweet, happy first memories for us here!
Just knowing that he is surrounded by several loving, godly women who absolutely adore the kids makes is so nice to take the kids there. We are so thankful for the blessing of having them in a good program to learn and play away from home 10 hours a week. It really is a nice break for me and for the kiddos too!
...and in one week, he will officially be a 1 year old! Wow!

Laughing at others crying must be a boy thing? One of the books I read to Jack, The Bear Snores On, has a bear crying at the end. I ham it up and pretend to cry and wail to get a reaction from Jack. He thinks it's hilarious. I guess we better work on teaching our boys empathy, eh?
