Straight A's for Izzy!
Izzy's school career is starting out great - All A's for her first ever report card!
We are proud of her, despite the chaos in her life, she is excelling in school.
She has had the Kindergarten experience like none other - 2 schools, complete with a mid-semester move; 3 classes total- half the year in a combined K-1 class; 5 teachers (+1 teacher aid); learning to ride the bus home; and parents who work shift work and didn't do homework all last semester. Despite that, she is thriving and put up with one strange, crazy school year!
Izzy has been blessed with very nice teachers, but 2 of them have been on maternity leave. Because of this, Izzy says "people need to get out of the business of having babies". She also said that would let Mommy be home more. Bless her, all she wants is her teachers to not come and go. (hoping next year we get a teacher who's past her maternity years)!
She seems very happy at her new school (She started there Jan 6.) She says they are much nicer.
I really like her new class and teacher(s). They are super organized and have a better behavior chart/incentive that allows for a few reminders and also has rewards involved so the kids to strive for good behavior. So far we haven't had any bad behavior days. (she had at least 1 a week in her previous class). Izzy seems right on track and we are glad the transition went smoothly.
It was also nice to tell Izzy how this is her school through grade 5, so she can really get used to going there. She was happy about that. She also thinks its cool that Levi and her will also attend0 Kate Sullivan Elem with her once he gets to start K and she is in grade 3.
I'm so proud of my little girl. She truly loves to learn and whether she is at the top, bottom or middle of her class, I can't wait to see what the future holds for her!
