Glendalough
Day 2 in the Irish great outdoors -we went hiking again! We drove down to Glendalough (land between lakes) and visited the sites. There is both a monastic city and a national park. We toured the monataric city established in the 1500s (while Izzy played on all the old tombstones, felt kinda weird about that), but she had a good time and we could hear the tour guide better.
After that we hiked through the park to see 2 lakes, a waterfall all nestled in this gorgeous valley. The lakes are from rain water and the waterfall had crystal clear water.
Izzy again wandered away during our picnic and made friends with a little boy called Kier.
We about froze sitting under a tree for lunch! But we sampled more delicious cheeses and bread!

We left pretty worn out and a little sunburned but also amazed at the beauty we have been able go see!
