Top 10 Things that made life with a newborn much easier!
1. Angel Care monitor
2. Sound machine. we used the Star Soother and Rainforest Waterfall
3. Pack & Play in our room
4. A good swaddling blanket
5. Boppy pillow
6. Tons of diapers to blow through!
7. On Becoming Baby Wise
8. Socks to keep her feet warm and prevent her from scratching herself
9. Camera with large memory card and extra batteries!!
10. Our Moms! (to cook, clean and hold Izzy)

Bringing home a baby is so amazing. Somehow we managed to take care of herself and ourselves even though we had no idea what to expect. For the most part we winged it, but the above things in the list helped us out a lot. I would totally recommend the angel care monitor, sound machine and swaddling blanket to get baby to sleep, and then enjoy some sleep ourselves(the monitor alarms if baby stops breathing)
I totally love me some Baby Wise as it helped us get Izzy into a routine that allowed us all to sleep, and sleep well! Of course having each other and our family around to hold Izzy and support each other was a great experience as well! Having a baby is truly a wonderful experience. Thank you God, for our precious Isabella!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
