Water Baby





I think one of the coolest things about being a parent is that I get to teach and introduce my baby to so many things! It really is amazing when they start to realize their surroundings and so much fun to watch them as they experience something new. One thing that is probably scary for most people is giving their babies a first bath. I, on the other hand was really excited about it, because it is really fun to watch babies in water for the first time. As a nurse in L&D, I give many kiddos their first (sponge) bath and while they usually scream, I love to watch their faces as they react to the water! I really was looking forward to being able to give Isabella her first bath, so much so, that I was up & walking after an hour after delivery to help with her first bath! I wasn't about to miss out on that! And of course when I got home, I did the bath for the first several days. Robert was nervous about her being so slippery! I loved watching her experience the water and how over time she has grown and now splashes us and tries to move all around her little tub. Izzy absolutely loves her bath time and is adorable in the water! I especially love the way she smells so clean and fresh afterwards. Such a neat part of our day with her. Here are picts of her first baths after her umb. cord fell off and one at 2 months old! Love this precious girl!!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
