Mommy's Days Off

Being a nurse has its perks - 4 full days off a week to spend with Izzy and Robert - but these days I'm on day shift, which means I hardly see Izzy the other 3 days. 3 days where Izzy only sees me for half an hour before bed is tough, on all of us. So she has figured out how to "complain" about those long days Mommy has to be gone by clinging to me and wanted me to hold her most of the time when I am home. She is easily distracted though, and still likes to have tons of stuff going on. This afternoon so far we have made cookies for Daddy and she got a big kick out of that, especially the taste testing part!

It's yummy cookie dough, but can I get a bigger spoonful?

Are they done yet?....Can't wait to get the cookies out of the oven!

I literally could not get a picture of her staying still to eat the cookie -she took off running as soon as she tasted it. I guess she figured since the cookie was so good I was chasing her around to take the cookie away. A few minutes later she was covered in chocolate and smiling!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
