Good Weekend

This weekend we were focused on house projects and were able to get several accomplished. Yay!
Cheree & Daniel brought Sophie for the weekend to help us out (both directionaly and physically). Thanks so much guys! It helped motivate us to do more which is so nice!

Recap of the long weekend:
Izzy does great with doing her own thing when day to day stuff is going on, but when projects specify for her not to be around, she gets ticked off and only wants to try to get into those projects. So we spent a lot of time going from person to person about who was babysitting her. But we painted 2 rooms, changed out 2 lights, did a major plumbing fix, got the attic set up with more storage space/cleaned it out, cleaned the bonus room, put up 30 picture frames on the walls and decorated some!

On Friday, Daniel watched Izzy for the morning while Cheree & I painted Izzy a bumble bee bathroom (that I LOVE!). At one point Daniel took Izzy out for a ride in the wagon and to walk Sophie. I looked out the window to see Daniel pulling the wagon and holding Sophie on the leash with one hand while on the phone, and pulling the 2 "girls" uphill. Turns out he had a business call, but was still able to juggle it all. I got a good laugh out of it. Friday night we watched a good movie together, which was good for unwinding. I took my driving school online and they all reminded me of why I was in driving school and we joked about my driving history.

Saturday morning we woke up to big snowflakes and some snow on the ground. We all had big cups of coffee and then got back to work. They guys fixed the plumbing issue downstairs while Cheree and I painted Izzy's big girl room lavender (with the window opened while it snowed). Every time the breeze came we both got chilled, but it helped keep up cool because somehow we were actually hot. Mark came over and then Cheree, Mark & I went shopping. The 3 of us only agreed on one thing - and they were out of stock! Go figure. That was frustrating...but entertaining.

We hosted a dinner on Saturday night (Cheree's high school BF and husband) which was fun and had a wonderful dinner - pot roast, garlic potatoes and one of the best salads I've ever had.
It's odd that we were in the midst of projects and cleaning up/organizing and decorating that we hosted our first non-family company. I hope to have more done on the house to get back to hosting dinners more frequently. Izzy had a blast with them and laughed and played with both Kristalynne and Nick as much as she could before bedtime.

Izzy really enjoys baking with Cheree - she gives her a ton to lick up!

Sunday brought us quite a few laughs with Izzy. At church, she loved class, and then found her new friend, Scout, age 4 to sit with in Church. She laid in her lap and got in her face and said Hi a million times during the singing. We were all trying so hard not to laugh at those two. She followed her up to the alter to pick up a can for giving coins to African children and then practically dragged her to Childrens' Church (Your supposed to be 2, but Izzy is so into the singing they let her go anyways. She's only 5 months too young anyhow). Scout went with it all because she wants a sister and her mom told her this is what it would be like. Precious.

Izzy then learned the word Okay, and proceeded to say it to me 100 times for the rest of the day, often 5 times in a row, and with a very serious look. It is hilarious and a little too grown up for her! That had both Cheree and I cracking up though. Tonight, after her bath, she was airing out - aka naked, when she she said she "potty" (ever since we went to Memphis and stayed with the Gearharts and she saw Kaden (2.5 yrs) going potty, she wants to sit on her potty all the time, but does nothing. So, we let her sit on her little seat and while Robert and I were discussing what projects to finish up for the night we looked down a few minutes later to see Izzy bringing her potty over to us. and then we saw - it had pee in it! I was sooo excited - she peed in her potty all by herself! we clapped and she clapped and she was pretty happy. Maybe we'll be potty training sooner than I thought after all! that would be awesome to get that accomplished!!

So that was our BUSY, but Good weekend! We set out to do what we needed and enjoyed time with family and Izzy. Tonight it's supposed to snow up to 6", so I'm hoping for a snowday so Robert can stay home with us tomorrow! we'll see!

New Purple Room with BIG Girl Bed. (she won't be sleeping in it for awhile, but she really loves to play on it!)

This is Izzy's bathroom we were able to finish - yellow paint, cabinets from boring wood to black with hardware & accessories - now we just need some bumble bee art to complete it!
