Welcome snow days...

Especially 5 on a row!

Our neighborhood may be dangerously icy and terrifying to come and go, but it sure is beautiful when it snows! Robert and I have discussed how when we bought the house we were thinking, oh good it's on a hill, flooding shouldn't be an issue. All and all it's not too bad, but we do think twice before going out driving here.

Ya, we were very blessed to not have to get out to work.

Moving just slightly north to Nashville has proved to be full of surprises, especially the weather. We had our fourth (I think, anyways) BIG (well at least decent, it's big to us) snowfall this week and we welcomed the snow with open arms. Mommy was already scheduled off all week (always awesome) and Daddy had a more flexible schedule since schools were closed x 5 days. This meant LOTS of sleeping in (especially Mommy) and enjoying hot cups if coffee for us... As well as a few adventures out in the snow. After the first day, Izzy was TOTALLY over the snow, so we mostly enjoyed the beautiful snow from indoors this time. We both agree she doesn't like to get bundled up and doesn't like to wear her boots or have cold fet. That's our guess as to why she hated the snow this time.

She DID enjoy making snowballs (and was really good at throwing them at Daddy, hehe)

This is our front yard/road 6 days after the snow - still have tons of snow around and ice here & there on the roads.

We noticed that Izzy was sleeping a lot later (maybe she enjoys her warm bed?) but also that she shot up a couple of inches this week. Which led to her being unusually clumsy and getting a lot if bumps and bruises this week. It was sad to see her with a pouty lip more than usual, but like always she is a trooper and can play happily for hours, injured or not.

Robert & I enjoyed lots of nights snuggled on the couch watching movies and staying warm. Haven't done that in forever...it was wonderful....and now I'm dreaming up ways to be able to be a stay home mom/wife! We also took the opportunity to try and make"snow cream" ( thanks for the idea Daniel & Cheree!) It wasn't too bad. We always love a good dessert. All in all, we are blessed with a wonderful daughter who we don't mind being snowed in every day with - she brings us so much joy!
