Springs here!



We have a love/hate feeling for spring around here!
All 3 of us seem to have allergies now, it makes me wonder if I'll keep spring as my favorite season!? It's beautiful outside, temperatures feel amazing but my body, specifically my head feels like it's always in the verge on exploding these days. Why is that a little thin like pollen can make you feel miserable?

Izzy can't quite describe her symptoms to me but I know she is all stuffed up and I imagine her head is feeling like a balloon these days, just like mommy & daddy's does. She also has a strange rash (turns out her eczema flaired up again) and so now she takes zyrtec and is doing much better!

Allergies don't stop us from getting out in the yard most days though. Izzy could spend her whole life outside...rain or shine, snow or sweltering southern heat - she is an outdoorsy girl all the way.

I'm also reminded of the rough months we are about to face as shorts & skirts have made their return to her wardrobe. Her poor knees and hands are scraped up now...I'll be surprised if they don't stay that way until October. But that is ok with me. I may cringe when she falls, and wish she wouldn't run or jump on concrete, but I know she is adventurous and doesn't mind a boo boo every now & then. I'll be there to give kisses when she does fall. She always comes and asks for a kiss on her boo boo or owie after a fall or scrape!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to.
