July 4th and some good corn on the cob

Since we moved the week before the 4th and were completely exhausted, we celebrated July 4th by RELAXING - just the 3 of us! Robert grilled a delicious meal for us -including grilled corn which Izzy LOVED more than anything! We spent the day playing with Izzy and also went swimming.

Since we live in the country now, there were fireworks going off all around us, but we didn't watch them long. Robert is mainly interested in fireworks when he is setting them off, and since it doesnt' get dark until an hour or two after Izzy's bedtime, we just stayed home and watched a season of Chuck. Next year, I plan to have a big party to celebrate with friends and family!

Who knew corn could make a little girl so happy?
Aahhhh...good smelling corn!
Apparently everything can be a telephone to Izzy.
She chewed away at that corn for over half an hour!
I guess it helped her molars that are coming in feel a bit better!

    thanks - she is very funny to watch while eating it...and it keeps her busy for an hour or so!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
