Gearing up for the holidays

While we are busy preparing the menu and just drooling over the thoughts of all the pies and good food, we've been busy around here... Izzy had a little mini celebration today at school and I went to have lunch with her and her class. It was fun to go spend that time with her - I love to see her learning about the holidays and do so many creative activities. She made a pilgrim hat and turkey painting. And as always, she was a character about things.

Thanksgiving 2011 has almost arrived!! How that is even possible makes my head spin. This year is zooming right along, and now we are busy getting ready for our family to all be together again! We will be hosting Turkey Day along with our Nashville family and my grandparents are coming down from Canada as well. This year will be extra special because cousin Jack has arrived and Izzy gets to meet her cousin for the first time! Looking forward to seeing the family soon!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
