Good Old Family Fashioned Christmas

...And so it's time to trim the tree
- we kicked off our 2011 Christmas season by...going to Lowe's. in the rain. with 2 year old Izzy running around in puddles!
We've been going there since we got married; in Searcy, then Memphis and now Nashville. Hard to believe that we are celebrating our 8th Christmas as married folks and are about to have 2 kiddos! We both enjoy this time of year and apparently so does Izzy.
After getting out in the rain to get our tree, we came home and us girls napped. Daddy got the tree all ready and we decorated it while drinking "hot" cocoa. Izzy got into the festivities by dressing up in whatever Christmas decor she could fit on her body - stocking on her feet, Santa hat on head, and any ornament that jingled was a bracelet! It was lots of fun and I'm glad we have our own little traditions that we do. Now that she is older, we plan on adding a few more to the list (making gingerbread cookies and decorating gingerbread houses) in addition to all the other Christmas baking we will do. Izzy, I'm sure will be in heaven - she knows exactly what baking means = lots of sugary goodness to sneak in while mommy and daddy aren't looking!
Here is our little Elf running around helping us. Yes, she wore shorts to decorate in (so did her Daddy). We have one entertaining helper on our hands!
Izzy is beside herself with excitement these days. We will see if Izzy leaves the ornaments on the tree this year. I have a feeling she won't.
