Aunt Meredith




Robert's sister, Meredith also gave us a great gift for our baby. She drew Izzy an awesome picture of an elephant for her nursery and it is super cute! (I love elephants). Again, I was also surprised at such an unexpected personal gift! Meredith & Aaron made the long trip up from Florida a few weeks before Izzy was born. They got to spend some time seeing her roll around my belly while I tried unsuccessfully to be comfortable at 38 weeks pregnant. I think I sat in a lawn chair (due to heartburn and back pain) while we watched movies and hung out all weekend. It was lots of fun to see them so excited about their future niece! When Izzy was 3 weeks old, we went to Florida and Meredith & Aaron came over a lot to spend time with their new niece and she really loved them both! So glad we had that time for them to get to know each other a bit!
side note: Meredith is also the culprit of naming Izzy our favorite nickname for her, Izzy Bug!! When I still had several months of pregnancy left I heard Meredith refer to her as that, and well it was cute and it just stuck! Thanks Meredith for the amazing drawing! Glad you are a part of things too even though so far away! Love ya too, Meredith!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
