The hills are alive...with the sounds of Izzy



Izzy is starting to show a lot more musical interests. When we play music, she stands up and wiggles her hips. She absolutely loves it when any musical toy is playing, especially her music/activity table (here she is enjoying it). She turns towards the music and listens very intently to it. She also loves her little piano, and really enjoyed banging on the real piano with her Aunt Meredith when we visited her.

When her Baby Einstein dvd- Baby Mozart is on, she will actually sit still, (yes, she actually can sit still!) and listen to the music and watches it closely It's the only dvd she shows interest in so far. When her friend, Kaden brought over a Maraca shaker) the other day, she played with it the whole time he was here.

Really interesting to see what all she likes. Perhaps we have a musically-inclined little one! Can't wait to watch her grow up and see what she does with those interests!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Grammy made homemade blueberry pancakes while Izzy and Grandpa supervised (and taste-tested) YUM!! I'm pretty sure she said Yum a lot this weekend! Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
