independence at 8 months looks like...

Being full time Mom is tough. Being a full time nurse is tough too. Add them together and Whew, you get one tired lady! I'm hanging in there, but I definetly have to pick my battles some days. When I'm too tired, Izzy has lots of fun, because, well, I simply don't have the energy to fight her.
On this day, I was about to go to work and was feeding her some oatmeal. She was not interested in me feeding her though, she wanted to do it herself. She literally would not open her little lips for ME, but she would when SHE was the one holding the spoon. So I gave in and this is what happened.
I of course just laughed and enjoyed watching her play. Robert came home about 4 minutes after I took these photos and looked pretty suprised when he walked in the door. Izzy of course just grinned from ear to ear.
We split the cleaning up part so I didn't feel as bad. At least she is interested in everything, and wants to do things herself. One day I will really appreciate her independence!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
