Opryland lights

Christmas evening we loaded up in Dad's big Suburb' and headed to Opry land - snow, ice and all!
By the time we got there everyone was cold and tired from the long busy day, but the lights definetly lifted our spirits. I forgot my camera - huge annoyance on my part...but still managed to take some good pictures for memory sake.
Izzy however had a blast running around "outside" but staying warm since it was like the tropics. She got a huge kick out of the fountains and light show and all the beautiful lights and decorations.
She fell asleep within 2 minutes of leaving Opry - which was perfect because on our way home we had a bit of a wait of a ramp that had iced over and there was at least a 10 car pile-up. We waited it out and were able to safely back off the ramp later and found another way home.
It was a very nice Christmas with my family after all.
I always love seeing all these poinsetta's!

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Another busy weekend has come and gone. It feels like we did so much with our family this weekend, but really we were all able to relax some and enjoy hanging out and playing with Izzy for the weekend. I'm thankful for the extra time with everyone. I just wish we had one more day off to do nothing now! Here are a few pictures to recap the weekend. Grammy made homemade blueberry pancakes while Izzy and Grandpa supervised (and taste-tested) YUM!! I'm pretty sure she said Yum a lot this weekend! Closer than ever

It was soooooo good to see my brother and sister. I'm glad they will get to see Izzy more too! There is so much to her personality and abilities, it is just too hard to describe her over the phone! Yesterday was a very cool day for me - I got to hang out with my brother, sister and brother in law too... hanging out might not sound like a big deal, but to us, it is exciting because for the first time in a long time - at least 7 years the 3 Voyles siblings all live in the same state. Not just that, but we are only 2 hours away from each other. We have been 10 hours apart for the last 4 years...which meant only visiting each other 3 or 4 times a year - 3 or 4 RUSHED visits is hectic and not enough time together for us. Now with Cheree and Daniel in Chattanooga and we're in Nashville (so is Mark), we're all going to be able to see each other much more often, allowing us days to just "hang out" like we used to. I literally called Cheree and Daniel on Thursday to ask so...
