Our Tree

Getting our tree up was a good different this year. Izzy is very mobile and active and likes to assist us (AKA, make a mess while we work) and also it was our first Christmas in our new home. So while we fumbled around to figure out how we wanted everything and keep Izzy safe, we had a few mishaps, Izzy learned how good hot chocolate is and we managed to have a good time and enjoyed our beautiful tree all month.

Here's how the process went to get the tree up.

The Stewart family Christmas tree (shopping) 2010!
Good old Lowe's has trees every year. Izzy's face cracks me up here. She is full of thousands of hilarious expressions. I don't think she got why we were looking at trees. She did however love watching it get trimmed with a saw and put in a bag - strange kiddo!
Uncle Mark thought the tree skirt would look good on Izzy
Izzy got tired of that quickly, though. Literally, she tried to take a nap with it on.
Izzy laying down on the job! hehe...Actually, she was eating dinner as we were setting up the tree (grilled cheese in her hand) but she didn't want to miss anything so she got her food to go....Izzy copied everything her daddy did, even laying on the garage floor. Lovely. Oh and we found a fake tree in our attic (that is why there are 2 trees here)
Daddy's girl. Always at his side and loves to be his helper - she is amazing at helping us - almost always does what we ask her! It's so awesome!
Haha. She cracks me up. She literally was watching us like what's the hold up? Can't you get this thing up already? Love her!
"Let me help - you put the lights on and I'll pull them over here!" Okay, so her helpfulness isn't awesome 100% of the time. But she knew how to turn the lights on for us each morning!
Decorating was my favorite part though! Izzy seemed to love that too!
She is such a big girl already!
Jamming out to Christmas music while decorating.
Learning all about snowman(s). They happen to be Izzy's favorite too. Good thing I collect them!
And then she found the pickle ornament and wanted to eat it. We gave her real ones and she ate 5 while we decorated the tree! After that, all we heard was Pick-EE (pickle).
Izzy loved to look at all the details of EVERY ornament!
Me and my Sweet Izzy (with her pickle and Santa of course)
blurry, but I love her squinty eyed smile that lights up her whole face!

And now, we get to Enjoy the lights!!
